Robert B. Morgan has died at age 87. Raised in Riverhead, N.Y. , Bob was a graduate of NYU’s School of Engineering, U.S. Air Force veteran and railroad enthusiast.
Bob delivered telegrams during WWII, flew in B-25 bombers, fired some of the last steam locomotives, and lived for most of his life in an 1815 farm house. Bob had a passion for supporting the underdog and headed a group that stopped a major highway from bisecting his hometown of Wilton, Conn.
He was active in his local Democratic party and voted for a Democratic candidate in every presidential election since Harry Truman ran in 1948. He took great pleasure from the company of his friends at Orlando Lutheran Towers.
Bob is survived by his sons, Lars (Carrie) and Sven (Debra), and his daughter, Kirsten (Rob), four grandchildren, Mia, Ilse, Christian, and Niels and his brother Howard.
