Melinda Lisle Meinke, 43, of Wilton, Conn., died on Sunday, Jan. 18, after a year-long struggle with breast cancer. She was born in Greenwich, Conn. on Sept. 10, 1971 to Audrey and Donald Meinke.
Melinda graduated from Darien High School in 1990 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in Illustration from Syracuse University in 1994. Following college, Melinda resided in Boston, Mass., San Francisco, Calif., Manhattan, N.Y., Brooklyn, N.Y., and Wilton.
She was married to Jesse Johnson on June 11, 2005 at the Florence Griswold Art Museum in Lyme, Conn. Melinda was a talented artist and worked as an Art Buyer and Art Producer at several advertising agencies, most recently for Digitas in Manhattan. She was a devoted mother to her two children, Cole (7) and Elliot Johnson (5), and was passionate about interior design.
Melinda is survived by her sister Cara Meinke, her children Cole and Ellie, her niece Skyler Johnson and nephew Bridger Brickley, her parents Audrey and Donald, a large extended family and her loving husband Jesse. Her infectious spirit, sense of humor, joy, and many talents were celebrated at a Memorial Service on Saturday, Jan. 24.
