Thomas D. Fitzpatrick, 71

Thomas D. Fitzpatrick, age 71, husband of Peggy (Connor) Fitzpatrick died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital.

Mr. Fitzpatrick, who was known as Fitz, was vice president of Regency Limousine in Wilton for many years. He enjoyed his work and was awarded National Chauffeur of the Year.

He was the son of the late John and Margaret (Hansis) Fitzpatrick. Born June 4, 1942, he attended St. Augustine’s and Central High School in Bridgeport and upon graduation enlisted in the Marine Corps. He served at Regimental Headquarters 6th Marine regiment from 1960-1965 during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was also very passionate about his work with the Second Marine Division Association, where he raised money for scholarships. He held many different positions on the national staff and was vice chairman of the Endowment Fund Board of Directors.

“Tom loved his dog Chipper, traveling and sports, in particular the UConn Girls,” his family said.

Survivors in addition to his wife include his devoted daughter Kelly Fitzpatrick Caudle, also daughter Kimberly Fitzpatrick Festa, and son Brian Fitzpatrick, many grandchildren, great-grand child, nieces, nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John (Bud) Brophy, sister, Muriel Pinto and two sons, Michael and Thomas Fitzpatrick Jr.

Per his request there will be no calling hours. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
