Mr. Robert “Bob” John Wiswall of Wilton, CT, age 76, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at his home from complications of COPD.
Bob was born in Norwalk, CT on July 7, 1937, son of the late John P. and A. Virginia (Zwart) Wiswall. Bob attended schools in Wilton and completed his schooling at J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford, CT. After graduation he entered the U.S. Air Force in 1954 where he received training to become a jet aircraft mechanic, and was subsequently stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict until his discharge in 1958.
In his early years he was a car salesman with Austin Chevrolet of Norwalk, Wilton Chevrolet and also the owner and operator of a used car lot in Broad River. He retired as a school bus driver in the town of Weston, CT. Bob enjoyed visiting various flea markets collecting rare and unusual items, attending antique and classic car shows and coin collecting. He had an interest in aviation and airplanes and at one point acquired a pilot’s license to fly.
Bob leaves behind his sisters, Barbara Robinson, of Waterbury, Patricia Mitchell of Bethel and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
