She enjoyed landscape design, tending gardens, photography, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her proudest accomplishments include performing at Carnegie Hall with her choir, earning a Bachelors degree in Human Services from the University of Connecticut in May of 2013, and raising her family.
Cher is survived by her daughter, Anastasia Burnsworth Kowal, and son-in-law, Mark Kowal, of Wilton; by her daughter, Alison Burnsworth Zareski, and son-in-law, P.J. Zareski, of Wilton; by her son, Gary Lee Green Jr., of Bethel; by her son, David Martin Green, of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; by her son, Sean Curtis Burnsworth, and daughter-in-law, Iris Burnsworth, of Gilboa, N.Y.; by her sister, Judean Ward, and brother-in-law, Patrick Ward, of Greenwich; by her brother, Niel Andersen, and sister-in-law, Susan Andersen, of New Milford; by her grandchildren, Laura Kowal, Mary Kowal, Katherine Zareski, and Andrew Zareski; and by many nieces and nephews. Cher is predeceased by her parents Martin and Beatrice Andersen, and by her sister, Virginia Chiappetta, all formerly of Greenwich.
Cher was a wonderful mother who made all of us who we are today. We love her very much and we will miss her dearly. Calling hours will be from Friday, January 10, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, in Georgetown, Connecticut.
