Mary Lou Hughes

Mary Lou Hughes, a 42-year-resident of Wilton, Conn., died on Monday, April 20,  2015.

She was the beloved and caring partner of Thomas Harrington, Sr., loving mother of Kimberly Ann Hughes, Todd Burnell Hughes and Jodi Delores (Hughes) Kerins. Loving grandmother of Kendall Ann Hughes, Mary Louise Kerins and Jennifer Marie Kerins and also survived by Thomas Harrington and his children Louisa, Thomas, Jonathan and Deborah and their families.

Born in Chicago in 1933 to Samuel and Geneva Robinson, she lived in Evanston, Ill., for most of her younger years. She had three children in California and Massachusetts and lived in Wilton for most of her life. She adored all her wonderful friends and the parishioners of St. Matthew’s Church.

Mary Lou and Tom were inseparable and spent the last 25 years very happy together. Mary Lou loved spending time with her and Tom’s children and families and loved living in Wilton, and loved New York, Broadway shows, traveling, reading and sending her children interesting articles from The Wilton Bulletin and other assorted newspapers and magazines. She was a wonderful person and will be missed terribly by her family and everyone who knew her.

Services will be held at St. Matthew’s Church at 36 New Canaan Road in Wilton on Friday, May 1, at 10 a.m. by the family. Mary Lou had requested in lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Women’s Board of Norwalk Hospital,  5 Isaac Street, Norwalk, CT 06851 or sent to Regional Hospice, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
